A Supercloud is a \u201cCrossCloud\u201d: It is an Infrastructure-as-a-
\nService (IaaS) that goes beyond federated or hybrid clouds and
\ngives its users direct control over cloud deployments\u2013even across
\ndifferent underlying cloud providers (Jia et al. 2015). It supports
\nprivileged cloud operations such as migration across autonomous
\ncloud providers even if they use different virtual machine monitors,
\nnetworking, and storage infrastructure. For instance, a user can
\nstart a virtual machine instance in the Google cloud (Google Compute
\nEngine), migrate it live to the Amazon cloud (Amazon Elastic
\nCompute Cloud), live migrate it again to the Microsoft cloud (Microsoft
\nAzure), then finally live migrate it to a private cloud (e.g. a
\nEucalyptus or OpenStack based cloud). Moreover, a user can have a
\ndeployment that simultaneously exists over various combination of
\ncloud providers, then change the placement at any time. To support
\nsuch privileged operations and customizations across many
\ndifferent cloud providers, the Supercloud provides virtual machine,
\nstorage, and networking complete with a full set of management
\noperations, allowing applications to optimize performance across
