Collaborate 2010 – Microsoft Platinum Sponsor on the Oracle User Groups’ Key Event

Collaborate1 Hello! Stefan Ropers, Sr. Director of Platform Strategy & Application Platform Partners, reporting from Collaborate 2010. Microsoft is committed to intensify the connection with its installed base customers that it often shares with other vendors. Roughly half of Oracle’s acquired applications run on Microsoft’s Windows Server and SQL Server. That is true, for example, for PeopleSoft and Siebel – on top a lot of the 6,000 JD Edwards installations worldwide run on Microsoft.

Our goal in engaging with the user community more is to understand how we can better help generate value in often very heterogeneous IT environments and how to use our technologies to evolve applications.  That is why this year Microsoft first became a platinum sponsor in the Oracle User Groups’ “Collaborate” event taking place in Las Vegas this year. Throughout this week, the Microsoft team will engage with key customers and partners. It will also run workshops around optimizing mission-critical ERP applications on the Microsoft Platform and tuning JD Edwards systems to run best on SQL Server.

Stay tuned for more updates ….
