“Monad” and Windows Server Longhorn

I’ve recently seen some articles that have been speculating that we will be including “Monad” in the upcoming release to Windows Server Longhorn, and that we have removed it from the Windows Vista beta 1.  I just wanted to take a minute and comment on some of this speculation.  First of all, the “Monad” technology is not part of the Windows Vista platform in Beta 1 and is not currently planned for the final version either.  As for Longhorn Server, Monad is not planned to be in that release at this time.  “Monad” is still under development and is currently available as a beta.  We have not yet announced how we will be delivering the final version of “Monad”, but as soon as we know, we’ll be sure to let you know.
